Jaipur is globally known as the Pink City of India. The city which enjoys a magnificent history behind is presently the capital city of the State of Rajasthan, India. The city takes pride in being the first planned city of the country. The city is located on the semi-desert areas of the state and has a distinguished essence as the remnants of the royal era are still very much prominent within the city. Today's Jaipur, although, does not lag behind the other metros of the country as the modern Jaipur is all-equipped with modern urban infrastructure and facilities. The city has a population of 3.2 million.

Being located at typical tropical region, the city of Jaipur has a hot semi-arid weather. Being a tropical country, the city could enjoy heavy rainfalls in monsoons but it is only limited up to 650 millimeters a year for the proximity to the desert. In between April and July, the average temperature rises up to 30 degree centigrade whereas in winter (November to February), the temperature falls down to 15 to 18 degree centigrade.

Jaipur Municipal Corporation and Jaipur development Authority jointly sees to the civic administration of the city. There are 70 wards in the Municipal Corporation, popularly called as Jaipur Nagar Nigam, that are divided into 8 zones. Jaipur Development is a branch of Government of Rajasthan and looks after the research and development of the city. The rural and slum areas of the city are also developed by them.

Jaipur International Airport is situated at Sanganer and has many domestic flights everyday flying in and flying out to different national and international destinations.

By Railway
Jaipur Railway Station is the prime junction of North Western Railway. Direct trains from Jaipur travel to almost all other metros of the country. Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore along with Gwalior, Bhopal, Patna, and Trivandrum are connected to the city. If you are an outsider, don't forget to take a ride in the special train, palace on Wheels.

By Roadway
As being the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur is well-allied via roadways to the other parts of the state and the country. National highway 8 plays a great role as it has linked the city with Delhi and Mumbai, two major metros and National Highway 11 links Jaipur to Agra. Jaipur Bus rapid Transmit System is like requisite blood flowing through veins and arteries of the city.
