Established in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh Jaipur is the capital and the largest city of the Rajasthan. Popularly known as the Pink City, Jaipur is steeped in history and culture. A true precedent of the tastes and likings of the Rajputs and royal families of India Jaipur is also attributed as being the first well planned city in the country. As Rajasthan is a desert it is inevitable that Jaipur faces extreme weather conditions. Summers are generally scorching and temperatures stretch upto 45o C. Monsoons in Jaipur lasts for a very short period. However winters are the best time to visit Jaipur since the weather is pleasant throughout the day and cold during the nights. Winters lasts from the month of October to march.
